Every company or organization out there should have a mission statement to spell out its overall goal. One large part of The Painting Cave is a place where students can learn to paint and draw and 'create'. In many ways, there is a lot more to this than just learning how. The class offers an opportunity for students to reflect on who they are and what drives them. My aim and the purpose for combining groups of students together is to inspire. Being inspired gives us the opportunity to create and out of this comes healing. Life is hard and we all know this. Some days we feel like our spirits are a little bruised. Creating something beautiful out of nothing but dedication, perseverance, love and care is a wonderful way to heal those bruises and build confidence.
This painting is my way of reflecting a little of what The Painting Cave is about. Many of my students contributed ideas and suggestions for this painting and this is the result. I host 3 classes a day Tuesday to Saturday and there are still some seats available.
